Seedlings (Early Years) Forest School Group

“Seedling”: [Noun]: a young one, growing, becoming stronger and preparing to join the world

We are thrilled to offer a weekly Seedling Forest School session, for children aged 2-6 years to enjoy, to explore the woods, follow their interests and prepare for transition into the world. Parents will share this experience with their children, learning, playing and crafting together. Children under 2 years are welcome, but there’s no need to book/pay if attending with an older sibling.

The sessions will take place on a Wednesday morning, between 9.30am and 12.30pm, at our Baby Moon site, Redcar Road, Dunsdale, TS14 6RH.

Booking is done on a half-term block basis; each session costs £7.50 per child, parents come free (as long as they are well behaved…)! Please note- we will only be offering full-block bookings, rather than part bookings.

As part of the session, there will be activities available, but the Forest School approach is child-led, following their interests, allowing them freedom and choice; they can play, create their own games, explore the woodland, dig into the earth or slide down the mud slide. There will be refreshments available and snacks cooked on the fire. As the sessions progress, you will see the community approach we take to our Forest School.

Come dressed for the weather, a waterproof coat, sturdy footwear, spare warm layer and hat are always a good idea. You are likely to get mucky, so old clothes are best! Natural fibres are more resistant to embers from the fire; long hair tied back is safest around the campfire.

If you have older children that are Home Educated, then possibly our Wildlings Forest School Group, for will be of more interest to you. This is for children aged 7 years and over.
