We love to lead and share outdoor adventure experiences with others, in wild places to promote physical, mental, emotional and social well-being!

Where we are based

We are based in Guisborough; right on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. 

We operate on the North York Moors, at local schools and at our two activity sites: Baby Moon- a boutique camping site, and Raithwaite Estate, near Whitby.

What we’re looking for

Who you are: 

Would you describe yourself as friendly, approachable, energetic, passionate & playful? We can can all reel off a list of qualifications but it’s who you are that is really important!

Ideally, we’d like people that live locally to where we work- as much of our work is individual days. 

Essential:

You must be able to provide:

  • DBS Certificate (within 3 years; ideally on the update service)
  • 2 Day Outdoor First Aid Certificate
  • 2 Credible References

A few of the following: 

  • Forest School Practitioner
  • Bushcraft Qualification
  • Archery Instructor
  • Rifle Instructor
  •  Axe Throwing Experience
  • Walking Qualficiation (ML, HML, LEL)
  • Team Challenge Experience

A bonus if:

  • D1 Licence (PSV or 101)
  • Outdoor or Education related Graduate Qualification
  • Teaching Qualification

What we can offer

Working arrangements:  

Our work is mainly day work with a variety of groups. We do a lot of long-term programmes, as well as outdoor learning events with schools, families and community groups. 

We usually work in pairs or small teams, an you may be at one of our sites doing a weekly Forest School session, doing axe throwing on a school field or walking the Cleveland Way!

Pay:

Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications, as well as your role (if you’re leading a group or assisting for example).

What will happen neXT

Where possible we aim to respond to everyone who expresses an interest; please bear with us as we are often busy.

If you are shortlisted, then we’ll contact you for an informal chat to get to know you and provide more details of what we do. At this point we may invite you to one of our sites so you can see what we do-  we’d ask you to provide certificates of qualifications etc., and references from two people.

Finally, we’d look to schedule you for some events on a trial basis with a view to adding you to our regular Freelancer Contact List.
